That area has been single family for many years. That's the primary reason for the denial.

To heal from child sexual abuse you must believe that you were a victim, that the abuse really did take place. This is often difficult for survivors. When you’ve spent your life denying the reality of your abuse, when you don’t want it to be true, or when your family repeatedly calls you crazy or a liar, it can be hard to remain firm in the knowledge that you were abused.

My family is not doing too good. That's the major reason I was leaving. I talked to coach Bowden during practices and he was real supportive. That meant a lot to me. All the coaches, even though I didn't play (this past season), were very supportive.

Everything happens for a reason. I thank the Lord my family is safe; just really thank the Lord.

There is no reason any more for me to have any contact with my family. Nowhere on our planet are people being buried in their back yards.

...we should be grateful for them because without our family—the ancestors we descend from, the cousins we see once a year, the loves our lives we see every day—life is pretty boring.
