I thought we were ready to quit there when we got down, but Nicole really got us fired up and was a good leader out there. We had five sophomores out there playing most of the night and I think they were really nervous at the beginning.

We're playing good softball. We just didn't get the hits when we needed it. We made one mistake defensively and it cost us but I'm not too disappointed. Port Charlotte is a good softball team.

We're obviously going to miss Ali. You just don't get many opportunities to coach players like that in your lifetime. It's going to be different because we depended on Ali an awful lot, but the truth is we couldn't have done all we did with just one person.
