That was by far the coldest I've ever been on a baseball field. The wind was in my face the whole time.

You think the greatest thing in the whole world would be to become a baseball player - if best things already happened, what's next?

It's ABC baseball — get 'em on, get 'em over and get 'em in. Our pitching has come around pretty good. Our infield is pretty solid. Everything is coming together pretty good.

Our twin priorities are reconstituting the baseball department and getting new decision makers in there. Coming up with our own philosophy, which is going to be a blend of a lot of different philosophies on building a winning team, one that's going to be successful [not just] next year, but for years and years to come. And how we deploy our assets to make sure that happens.

Professional baseball is a dream, but for what they (the Angels) were trying to offer, it wasn't nearly enough to get me away from a tradition like this.
