I don't want to diminish the seriousness of any hate crime -- because one hate crime is one too many -- but if there is a silver lining in the numbers here in our jurisdiction, it's that for the most part they were not violent offenses.

There were several leads and/or calls that came in on Sunday indicating that he was in Shreveport. Using that information we were able to narrow down the area.

We are still working on how he got from Houston to Shreveport. We don't have any idea what happened between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and about 8 p.m. Sunday, but looking at the clothes he left behind is a good indication that he was assisted.

We have been getting many calls. Some have not been panning out, but we have had some very credible leads.
