That was the worst thing that had ever happened to me. I'd pace back and forth watching the team wrestle (at state) and I knew I couldn't wrestle. I think about it a lot.

It made me want to focus and get my grades up and not make the same mistake twice. I knew I wanted to wrestle. I wasn't taking care of it in the classroom. It caught up to me.

I tell my kids, no matter who's recruiting you, you make sure to visit one of the local schools. I'm always a believer that kids get this gleam in their eye about going far away. They need to have a place they can go back to.

It's kind of hard to sit up here and hold a grudge when it doesn't really matter at this point. The feelings he had, the feelings I had ... why bring that up. We're champs.

But I learned first-hand how the news media operates by watching how they interpreted, changed, and misrepresented my intentions.

It's the straw that broke the camel's back for some of them. If you're somebody who was already down to the last thread of survival, just trying to keep the bills paid, this will leave you flat out.
