The 3/8-inch diameter rods of paint color in my view are used as material to build geometric, abstract, colored relief sculpture. The fact that paint is used is incidental.

I've done a lot of color, and I've gone further with geometric prints, ... I went to a much more naive hand, and some of them were done with construction paper and Spiralgraphs, almost like a child would do them.

A very strong group. There wasn't a lot on the lower end. I rated them all pretty high. I guess it's characteristic of good teaching.

It's a great achievement. They usually pick a juror of some national or international fame. No. 2, it's open to anyone who wants to submit work, not just artists from Monmouth County. So it's rich in its submissions. There (are) lots and lots of people with experience and skill who enter this show.

A script can just be a blueprint, and you've got to go in and build it and color it in and paint it.
