The AMBER Alert to me is bittersweet. It's wonderful to bring children home where they belong, but what if we had the AMBER Alert when Amber went missing?

It was valuable to me that I was home with my children during breaks and the summer months.

Back in the 90s, sociologists studied what they called 'boomerang children,' adult children who returned home or were in and out of their parents' home. What they found that it wasn't because they were freeloaders. It was because the economy was bad.

It nice to come back home.

It was just an outstanding event. They were happy to have us. We felt at home. They had signs up and our pictures. The halftime ceremony was very nice and so was the reception. It couldn't have been a nicer party for our group.

To children childhood holds no particular advantage.
