The amount of things you ignore is equal to the amount of things you are afraid of.

I have always felt that fear possesses such great power, enough to paralyze and quake an individual. Pondering this, I realized that the source of fear's power comes from within me. So, I ask myself, does that not make me the powerful one?

Most people don't get scared straight, they get scared silent.

People dread silence because it is transparent; like clear water, which reveals every obstacle—the used, the dead, the drowned, silence reveals the cast-off words and thoughts dropped in to obscure its clear stream. And when people stare too close to silence they sometimes face their own reflections, their magnified shadows in the depths, and that frightens them. I know; I know.

Ignorance is my refusal to think outside the box of my fears.

I've been criticized more for the things I've done right and or said in truth than any wrong thing I've said or done. I think this is evidence to how deathly afraid people are of hearing a truth that might shatter their perception of reality. Their defense mechanism is on high alert and anything that threatens their security blanket gets fired upon.
