The animals would have had a painful death in shelters.

Andy once clipped a magazine article about how black dogs are always the last to be adopted at shelters and, therefore, more likely to be put down. Which is totally Dog Racism, if you ask me.

I like animals, but I'm not doing it because I'm an animal lover, ... It's upsetting to see so much death. I've gotten down because I'm always around something dead. I had to call on the local police to finish one deer off. That's bad.

There aren't any options for these animals. You can't release them in the wild. It's either a sanctuary or death. That's why places like Bobbi's are important, because it's like an orphanage or a retirement home.

One big issue is the ability to handle the animals at [emergency] shelters.
