The atrocity of the atomic bombing is difficult to explain.

My mother kept calling me out of myself. She wanted to show me a picture, the first picture from the slave-ship exhibition. ‘This is unbelievable,’ she said. ‘Myra, you have to see this, this is unbelievable.’ I cringed at how fast she was talking. Why unbelievable? This all actually happened! Why is this all so hard to believe?

Atrocity is recognized as such by victim and predator alike, by all who learn about it at whatever remove. Atrocity has no excuses, no mitigating argument. Atrocity never balances or rectifies the past. Atrocity merely arms the future for more atrocity. It is self-perpetuating upon itself — a barbarous form of incest. Whoever commits atrocity also commits those future atrocities thus bred.

Ideology always paves the way toward atrocity.

Organisations find no rationale to increase the salary of the employees, but get often reasons to deduct some amount from the remuneration under one or the other pretext.

These numbers are much better than anticipated. It is difficult to explain from the data we already have.
