The broader the [ECM] suite the more comprehensive the technologies you can bring to bear, the more you can hide that technology from end users. I think what's going to happen more and more is that systems will be set up so it just makes sense in your business environment. You can log in, do your job and we can get back to the simplicity of a pencil.

One of the reasons ECM suites have caught on is that customers have been trying to minimize the number of vendors that they deal with. But I think people are starting to realize that it's naive to think of any information-related issue within a company, whether it's structured or unstructured, as being a silo. Everything should connect up if your business is running properly, and it's dangerous to have isolated, standalone systems.

Nobody cares about technology anymore. They're buying solutions to problems. That's the reality.
