The cameras are there already. All they have to do is buy the software.

It could be used to reduce the software costs for desktop or mobile computers while keeping staff-related costs in check.

I think that they're clearly right to be moving into this business-to-business software solutions area. We're seeing so much activity in that area; a lot of the Y2K spending is moving into commerce-related initiatives, security-related initiatives. It's an area where Microsoft has not been doing so well as they've been trying to get [Windows 2000] out, and Novell needs to position itself strongly from the directory and security infrastructure standpoint.

Microsoft is very good at momentum marketing. It can turn reports of strong growth in revenues, software licenses shipments, or clients being supported into a message that Windows NT is becoming the de facto standard.

That money could be spent so much more wisely on giving software away to parents that are having these problems.
