The common curse of mankind, -- folly and ignorance.

Ignorance is the curse of God; knowledge is the wing wherewith we fly to heaven.

Shall we their fond pageant see?
Lord, what fools these mortals be!

Only fools befriend ignorance, and they pay the price. Only the wise befriend wisdom, and they reap the rewards. We are all ignorant of something, but some are ignorant of everything.

Knowledge profits those who know how to use it. Ignorance hurts those who use it. Folly ruins those who practice it.

There is no darkness but ignorance.
