The cost of land here is such that developers can buy it at a very reasonable price.

It never occurred to me not to continue. I don't think the current group of young people have that same determination.

I'm sorry to see it. My great-grandparents came to the United States from Switzerland and farmed. We've been building on this land for 36 years.

We don't see that any more. We see more of a leveling at lower price levels.

We've got the land approved through the city. It'll be in Ross City Park, just south of the swimming pool. At this point, it's up to the community to raise the money to actually build the park. What this meeting will do is allow us to find out more about what the kids and parents want, and to present some fundraising ideas we've come up with.

The waiver dates back to the earliest date of the current owner. If Farmer Jones buys land in 1950 and creates a trust in 1980 and names his kids as beneficiaries, then he dies in 2000, the kids' interest dates to 1980.
