The donors the governor needs are in the business community. For them, the re-election announcement is an investment and a guarantee — an insurance of some sort that he is going to stay around and work for them.

He needs to talk about the relevance of what he's doing with the political system.

I think they're absolutely terrific companies. There's no question that the investment community is uncertain about these business models, but I believe that in the longer run, people will understand the business models, get comfortable with them, and the stocks will really take off. It's a very exciting area.

We were disappointed at their lack of attention to the needs of the business community, reflected in our signed petition and in the support of our regional Chamber of Commerce.

I think it's time for a business leader to step in. We've got some real needs in this community that need to be solved.

For the community to have a year-round tourism season, it needs to bring in business other than leisure travelers. If you wanted a longer or stretched season, you need those conference facilities. That's one way to do it.
