The failure of the White House to produce relevant documents is reason enough for any senator to oppose this nomination. The administration cannot treat the Senate with such disrespect without some consequences,

We must stop the Tea Party before the United States Senate falls into the hands of extremists and ideologues who leave no room for reason or compromise, who don't recognize common ground even when they're standing on it.

Total freedom from your past; both the good and the bad things is the foundation for a successful life.

This is tremendously disappointing, ... The reason they were prohibited from offering supplemental education is because they've demonstrated failure. So now they're going to somehow magically be really excellent in tutoring? Explain that to me. On what possible educational grounds should they be given a waiver?

This 21st century economy holds great promise for our people. But unless we give all Americans the skills they need to succeed, countries like India and China will take good-paying jobs that should be ours.

But let me make clear that I have not endorsed this nomination, ... It would be entirely premature of me to do so.
