The financial gain by having two BCS revenue-producing teams, that is pennies. What we are talking about is the manhood of every male that has ever gone to Vanderbilt. I'm tired of everybody saying my football team [stinks]. . . . We would gladly give up some revenue for a little bit of pride.

I would feel a lot more satisfied if the money went towards the family it was supposed to benefit. I believe everyone here would feel more satisfied. We've got a lot of money involved in this benefit and we felt like it was heartfelt. We are all victims here.

Often, we spend time in our different corners of the city. We're in different places like silos, which prevent us from interacting with one another very often on a one-on-one level. This is not associated with anything but the idea of community. If we can build that opportunity to get to know each other in a common space, that is tremendous.
