The girls just weren't ready at the beginning of the year. Our pitching has come around. They have put in the extra work and it has just taken off. We have a lot of momentum going into the districts.

We are just not playing well together yet in certain areas. They'll improve. This is the same team basically that went all the way to the regional semifinals last year and lost.

We had a very tough schedule right out of the box. We haven't performed that well. Defensively, we have been very strong. We had a flash of offense in the Cooper City game. We took a beating against Everglades and lost to St. Thomas and as far as I am concerned we should have won two of the games.

You just have to stay as upbeat as you can. We have a lot of kids who know what it takes to win, so we will be fine. They are a little down now, but we will be OK.

I think it is affecting the scores. I think all the pitchers are going to get hit this season, so I believe the key to winning this year is a strong defense.

I don't know if more things could have gone wrong at the beginning of the game. But the girls responded well to their mistakes. It's not always about how many mistakes you make. It's about how you respond to them.
