The guy's a proven hitter his whole life. Ever since he's been playing pro ball, he's been doing damage. Get him healthy and in the lineup and we'll score some runs.

He knows how to put a hitter away.

It's a learning experience, ... I've never been through a full year of pro ball, and that's an experience in itself. I'll take positives from it and learn from the negatives.

We're looking forward to the challenge of playing at the state tournament. We have to go up there and play our game. We can't let the excitement of the state tournament get us out of our routine.

I started playing ball when I was a kid. My dad was a pro ball player and he passed on his knowledge to me.

I'm going to be stubborn and stay on the ball. I was more of a pull hitter (last year). It's not the way I had approached things in the first 10 years, so I don't know why in my 11th and 12th years I started changing. ... Not this spring.
