The kids played about the best they have since I have been here. So I was really proud of them even though we lost. It was still a moral victory for us.

I know the kids really wanted this game. They came in ready to go, but when we got down we just didn't respond to it (playing from behind). When we got down, we kind of folded and they (Dexter) kept playing hard.

When you are playing with just five players out there, you get tired. But that's the hand we were dealt tonight. But we can't take anything away from South Iron. Even if we had had everyone healthy, they still would have beat us pretty good.

Whittaker drives so well to the bucket, and then he can pull up and hit that jump shot. He finds a way to slash and slide in there and takes it up strong.

They came out and took us out of our game and I congratulate them. They came into our place - and I thought we had a good chance of beating them - but they came out and played harder than us.

It makes you tear up a bit just to see that the kids can do something for you. There's one resident who knew that I did not have breakfast, lunch or dinner yesterday. At 10 at night, she was shoving crackers in my pocket telling me to keep my strength up as we were walking through here. I made her take them back, but they try and give back as well too.
