To be a poet at twenty is to be twenty: to be a poet at forty is to be a poet

It's a woman's book but I think the men will read it too.

Twenty-five years ago, we had around 250 moose in that unit. This year we counted 11 in our survey area. We think we are losing them to disease, similar to what's happening in northwestern Minnesota.

A year like that makes you appreciate things a lot more.

My fictitious characters will take the bit between their teeth and gallop off and do something that I hadn't counted on. However, I always insist on dragging them back to the straight and narrow.
