The best teachers teach from the heart, not from the book.

It is just as important, perhaps more important, for the teacher to have the benefit of personal counseling when he needs it as it is for the student.

Teaching is reminding others that they know just as well as you. You are all learners, doers and teachers.

I am sure it is one's duty as a teacher to try to show boys that no opinions, no tastes, no emotions are worth much unless they are one's own. I suffered acutely as a boy from the lack of being shown this.

That is the difference between good teachers and great teachers: good teachers make the best of a pupil's means; great teachers foresee a pupil's ends.
