The NFL is about winning games late. They had opportunities many, many times (and) they did win a few of them – the Jets come to mind. But they just didn't make the plays at the right time that they did the year before.

Playing well and winning the Super Bowl helped my credibility. Otherwise, when I'd give an opinion, people would say, 'What has he done?' If I didn't win that Super Bowl, I'd probably be coaching somewhere. TV would not be an option for me. So, (winning the Super Bowl) does help.

I'm not a guy that believes you've got to have a lot of experience to have success in the playoffs.

No one else knew him like the Jets did. And it's important that you hire people you know sometimes because it gives everyone in the organization a level of comfort. You know this person has the level of belief in the things you want carried out.

That's the favorite question. Everyone wants to know what the surprise team will be.

When you're angry, you're grinding at what you're doing all week. You pay attention. Sometimes when you feel good about yourself, you don't cross a few T's.
