The open house period will give people an opportunity to see what's going on and to add any ideas they might have.

We hope this will be an annual event.

If you don't go through that trawl of finding out about patents and protecting your ideas, you will come to regret it. I have never been able to protect an idea in 20 years. I have since found out that I probably could have done so. I would be much better off today if I had been able to protect some of my ideas.

What public universities need to do is be the sources of access, hope and opportunity for young people in the state.

I think this is such a cool opportunity for our kids. How many people are able to say they worked with NASA engineers while they were still in high school?

Opportunity ideas do not lie around waiting to be discovered. Such ideas need to be produced.
