The outlook for a career in transportation is excellent.

The pins allow rotation of the bridge at the bearing areas. The need for rotation is mainly derived from the fact that steel expands and contracts with temperature variations. When the temperature warms, the bridge naturally expands, or lengthens longitudinally, and unless it's allowed to do so, undesired stresses are introduced to the structure.

These are mechanisms that prevent lateral movement of the bridge. They lock together and provide stability.

In my 20 years of experience, this is probably the softest market we've ever had. A lot of property owners and management companies have seen this coming.
