The people once came out into the streets and won Shevardnadze's resignation, they can demand the ouster of the current authorities.

There are various forces in the government. Some are for dialogue, while others are entrenched in their position. We must favor dialogue and help reach an agreement. Let us put an end to our peaceful action and gather again [next week].

As a minimum, the head of the department overseeing these four [arrested] men should resign even if he was not involved. Politically, he should take responsibility that a band of killers existed within his staff. Without his resignation the case should not be closed.

This is a criminal case organized by the country's president and the interior minister.

Secretary Rumsfeld, people are calling for your resignation. Somebody is drafting an article of impeachment against you right now, ... What do you say to those people who are calling for your resignation?

The people have been in constant mobilization, and we will continue to march. We are asking for the resignation of the president, and we are demanding the nationalization of the fuel sector. It should be 100 percent for Bolivians, not for the transnational companies.
