The police officers showed us a video they'd shot during the storm while they were inside the building. It looked like a pitcher being filled up with water. The water was rising so fast. It was crazy.

Everyone came ready to work, and we worked hard. Everyone did, but we only made a small dent in what needs to get done.

We'd seen the devastation on TV, but didn't really anticipate the sights we saw. It was shocking. I knew right then and there I'd made the right choice deciding to go and help. I just couldn't believe my eyes. When you see a house which has floated from its foundation a half-mile away, now resting right in the middle of railroad tracks, you just don't know what to think.

We enjoyed it all immensely. The police escort, the shirts, everything was such a great surprise. They treated us so special.

I totally don't like the police out there. It's making us feel uncomfortable. We feel on the edge. They are making us feel like criminals.

Give us a day's training or send a police officer with us. Have someone with us so that you know we're not doing anything to mess up the case. And we'll go out and do whatever needs to be done. I just don't understand why they're not willing to even attempt to help.
