The presidents of colleges have to have some courage to step forward. You can't limit alcohol in college sports, you have to get rid of it.

Ask yourself this question: If aspirin were the leading cause of death on college campuses, do you think chancellors, presidents, and trustees would allow aspirin commercials on basketball and football telecasts? They wouldn't, not for a minute.

I think it's math. Thirty-six college students die every year of alcohol poisoning. There are 5,000 colleges. It hasn't gotten to us yet. I certainly don't think we're immune. And we may even be more susceptible than other schools.

The administration recognizes that alcohol is readily available on college campuses. The Quad is a very convenient place for people to go indoors and party ... without people knowing about it.

On college sports-...You have to work for it in order to be good, and you have to be good enough so that even on your worst day you´re still better than everyone else.

It's tough for freshmen. Fall sports are different than spring sports. They have to adjust to being in college.
