The primary motivation [of the lawsuit] is to continue to illicit change. [The students need to be educated] on issues such as diversity and tolerance. They need to be taught properly.

If you do an interview in 1960, something it's bound to change by the year 2000. And if it doesn't, then there's something drastically wrong.

That's my motivation in doing it, that this is something that is really going to serve the students at Penn and that they're excited about it.

I have seen a jump-in motivation of the students. They are actually sad that they are not going to compete anymore. They enjoy the challenge and like solving the problems.

I think that it's commendable that [Williams] would take a step to apologize for an obvious offensive, divisive statement. But I think it's also a pragmatic attempt to limit the damages on the city's part. It's intelligent for the city to do that.

If [Williams] would like to meet, that is what we want.
