The prosecutor has withdrawn the case before plea... which is a step where charges are dropped for lack of evidence or because the police cannot finish investigations.

It's surprising to me that the prosecutor would even think about charging (Etheridge) in this case.

I know who they are but there isn't enough evidence to lay charges. They're still around downtown and one of the girls even came into the shop one day and said she was here that night, but didn't take anything. The drugs had caused scabs all over her face. She was a walking wreck.

That guy's evidence - and his case - was toast,
