The public high school needs to be all things to all people. We have to provide the challenge for those who have to option of private school. At the same time we need to serve the needs of those who don't.

We still have a challenge in middle school.

The biggest challenge is to be able to respond to the needs of the population. They've got to be able to provide the basic services. Otherwise, there will be simmering unrest.

It's a tremendous design challenge just to meet the needs of our clients and make effective use of public funds. But we still try to do something more, look for just one or two places in each project where we can make something sparkle. Sometimes it doesn't even have to cost money -- it can be more natural light or the interplay of different materials.

Our No. 1 challenge is to meet all of our customers' needs and expectations while going through the legal transition, and grow our business and produce positive revenues that make us attractive on the market.

Our challenge as educators is to make sure children are fed, feel safe, and basic needs are met. Our job is to make it so they're not thinking of survival and can use their energy and attention to learn,
