The public schools here are wonderful and we have the opportunity to keep them wonderful. That's why we live in Davis - so we can send our kids to the public school.

I understand that four classes give more schools an opportunity to be champions, but I think the more you add, the more you water it down. If four is good, 10 might be better. And pretty soon it doesn't have that much meaning.

I liked all the schools I looked at, but I felt I had more of an opportunity at Eastern, from a quarterback standpoint. I really felt that was the place for me to be.

If that's the best opportunity to come around, that's what I'm going to do. A lot more schools have come to see me since I qualified. It feels good to have that off my shoulders. Now, I can relax and worry about leading my team to a championship.

We felt that we needed to formalize the process for naming schools. The community has an opportunity to be involved. I personally think it has worked extremely well. . . . I hope that future boards will continue to use the same format.

The public schools bring the community together and make it more vibrant. I feel that this is an excellent opportunity to serve the community by serving on the Board of Education.
