The reality of abortion isn't political at all. Women don't come in here and say, 'I want to exercise my constitutional right.' It's a personal, emotional decision. Most women express relief, but some talk about sadness and loss.

Our patients are not coming to, quote, 'exercise their constitutional rights'. They want to talk about prayer and forgiveness.

I frankly don't care if you agree with my stand on abortion. I take that stand because no other stand is consistent with decent principles, and no other standard is consistent with the will of God.

The reality is, if Ohio and lawmakers want to do something about abortion, then they need to do something about their efforts to prevent unintended pregnancy. Contraception is key to that.

The articles pertaining to abortion provide more conditions whereby women can get safe abortion services in cases of incest, rape, severe fetal impairment - and where the pregnant woman is physically as well as mentally unfit to bring up a child.

Women in the western side of the state don't think about abortion until they need to, and then they're completely shocked that there's no way to receive that care unless they go to Sioux Falls.
