The situation is very, very, very grim and very, very, very sad. Baghdad is a city waiting for something terrible to happen.

As the winter comes in, the situation has gotten more grim.

There is no presence of American infidels in the city of Baghdad.

Once you see the situation that you're in -- and this was a terrible situation -- you try to look at your options. And then you look at your option and you see you don't have any.

Then I thought, boy, isn't that just typical? You wait and wait and wait for something, and then when it happens, you feel sad.

We stay in the same old situations because we're comforted by the familiar, even if the familiar is terrible.
