The three victims sought out were people of color. I don't buy coincidence in this crime of hate.

Nobody out there can say that if the state passed a hate-crime law any crime would decrease. People who commit heinous crimes should be punished.

An unbelievable number of complaints are coming to the NAACP from all over Broward County. We're getting complaints about misconduct, intimidation when they try to file complaints and people driving and minding their own business being stopped, especially young black males.

The Gaynor family equated the condition of the lifeless body of their son and brother, Norris, with that of Emmett Till, who was savagely beaten and murdered in Mississippi in 1955. The NAACP will continue to monitor this case as well as work with the Gaynor family and their ( Fort Lauderdale) attorney Greg Durden as they fight tirelessly to see justice done in the murder of their son.

This has not been a crime of hate.

It fits all the elements of a hate crime,
