The two walks and the ball in center field that dropped obviously were bigger contributors in that inning than the missed call on the check swing.

Walks are an offensive weapon, [but] there's a lot of things that add up to offense. I'm concerned with the bottom line [on] offense.

The way he carried himself on the field, the little things he did made a difference in what his pitchers could do. He was terrific.

John wasn't out there and wasn't awful, but he obviously wasn't as crisp as we had seen him and as crisp as he was against the Yankees .

His last 20 at-bats or so, he's really seeing the ball well. And tonight? You can't square up a ball any better than those couple of home runs.

Guys who relied on them are going to have to find alternative solutions. Obviously, some players have leaned on them. There have always been things that players used.
