The umpire was giving me four or five inches off the plate all day long, so I used it to my advantage.

After giving Jan an evaluation run in December, we were impressed and wanted to give him another day in the car. I'm quite pleased that he was quickest in just his second day in the car and it shows we have strong technical program and that Jan clearly has a lot of potential in the car. This test is part of our preparations toward the season, and it's of course encouraging to be quick with a driver that is so new to the car.

I'm doing everything I can. I care. I'm working at it. Not a day has gone by that I haven't thought about it. Nobody has higher expectations for me than I do. ... It's hard to pinpoint. The bottom line is it hasn't been there. There's no reason to make excuses, and I'm not going to sit here and do it.

We seem to always be battling back. If any one guy is not doing well, like myself today, someone always comes up big.

We battled back. It was our game to win or lose in the end, we just didn't execute when we needed to.

I still need some more days but I am not giving up the season because it is getting better day by day.
