The unborn child demands and deserves protection under our Constitution and under our state laws, and I believe it's now time to abolish abortions in South Dakota.

It is the time for the South Dakota Legislature to deal with this issue and protect the lives and rights of unborn children.

I think the time has come that [abortion] needs to be brought before the Supreme Court -- simply because 33 years have passed [since Roe]. This legislative body has taken the bull by the horns for the last few years.
