The Visitation Weekend is a wonderful opportunity to really excite women about engineering.

We choose the Engineering Open House because the labs are open, and the faculty is here. The focus is to expose them to everything engineering that we can.

ITE is good because it provides the opportunity to have a diverse population of students who are academically on the same level.

With engineering, I view this year's failure as next year's opportunity to try it again. Failures are not something to be avoided. You want to have them happen as quickly as you can so you can make progress rapidly.

If what we find in the current policy is not serving our young women and giving them the best opportunity to compete for a long time, then we would change it. But let's learn all that's out there first.

I'm looking forward to this weekend and maybe see some surprises. It's a great opportunity, and I really think that all of them have the ability to make some noise.
