The whole of this country feels for the people of the Gulf Coast of America who have been afflicted by what is a terrible, terrible natural tragedy,

He has steered his country through a most difficult and painful transition ... We now look forward to the presidential elections when the Russian people will decide on Boris Yeltsin's successor and take a further step towards embedding the democratic process.

We are angry. We are angry about extremism and about what they are doing to our country, angry about their abuse of our good nature, ... We welcome people here who share our values and our way of life. But don't meddle in extremism because if you meddle in it ... you are going back out again.

For all the resentment of America, remember -- the basic values of America are our values too -- Britain and Europe -- and they are good values,

As I said to the President yesterday, this country will stand ready to help in any way that we can,

what we hold dear in this country and in other civilized nations throughout the world.
