There may be a housekeeper working in dining services. We would rather invest in them and invest in their education than hire someone else. Who knows? They (new hires) may not work out or fit in the Erickson culture.

Once my mom became a teacher, I saw the importance of education. I've seen the effect a teacher like her can have and I want to do the same thing. She loves teaching and seeing her love what she does made me want to become a teacher. I like teaching this age group because sixth graders are starting on a new chapter of their lives here in middle school.

There's a real need for this here, ... Hopefully, we can send out people with the right tools in education to deal with the problems they find.

The intent of that money was to provide funds for prevention, treatment, education and cessation programs. And that clearly did not happen in South Carolina. We're ranked 51st in funding for these programs and 51st in (cigarette) tax. The state is doing next to nothing.
