There was this guy in my class doing guitar. I loved it right away. Kids always enjoy the moment ? that's the best.

I like people to see that classical music is not stuffy. It's something for any generation.

Sometimes it's hard to find the time to practice, but you have to. It's not always about having fun when you make this a career. No matter if you feel like it or not, you have to practice.

I was pretty good at it because I liked playing it. I didn't think of it in terms of something I had to do.

What we teach is classical guitar and we have tons of kids doing it. That's kind of what we're aiming for, but sometimes the parents of students think it sounds cool and sign up.

The potential right now for success at that school is very, very high. Of the 30 kids in my class, about 10 are Hispanic. It's very difficult for me to look at those kids that I'm teaching now and know that statistically there's a good chance some of them will drop out of school.
