There's that initial reticence for some athletes to take you seriously.

Many times in life I've regretted the things I've said without thinking. But I've never regretted the things I said nearly as much as the words I left unspoken.

You don't have to take yourself so seriously all the time.

This isn't just about helping athletes prevent blisters. We can help diabetics if we can figure out where they need specific materials in their socks. Then, we find out where diabetics have skin trauma and target those areas.

It's for the protection of the public. We don't want unqualified personnel making medical decisions for athletes. Athletic trainers are highly educated, medical personnel who specialize in the prevention, recognition, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries that occur to the active population.

When I'm anchoring, I miss chasing stories in the field.
