There's a difference between depth and quality depth, and Josh would be quality depth. We want to have a guy like that, but if not, you move on.

I think he goes out of his way to make a difference in other peoples' lives. He takes players underneath his wing, I think he's a very positive human being, he focuses on the right things. He really cares about the team. I think his maturity from the first time he's been here until now is phenomenal. Life teaches us different lessons and I think he's taken them the right way.

We have a long-term vision and we'll still need a lot of pitching, but you still have to earn something, too.

I was not really surprised, because Brian matured into the role. We're pleased with him, and we look forward to him pitching better.

He was obviously very intelligent, very mature beyond his biological age. He got along with people real well. He had a nice way about him.
