There's a lot of kids who don't want to stand out and be different from their friends.

There were a couple that had been hiring kids to do stuff on an extremely part-time basis, and there was a question of whether that money would be available. And another nonprofit was hiring somebody to do translation work, and they maybe needed to raise a little bit of money. They were very tiny, minor things. No one that was a routine employee lost their job as a result of having to implement these changes in the wages.

When kids would get into a fight, she helped break them apart. Then they'd become friends after it.
