There's always a huge influx (of interest) with the Olympics. They all want to be the girls on the ice in the cute little dresses and they want to do all the things that the top Olympic skaters do. They want to try all the tricks that they see on TV.

It's self-dedication, self-motivation, maintenance of your feelings. It's having the ability to fall and fall and fall and get up and keep doing it, keep doing it. It's realizing you've made a mistake and going out there and fixing it. It takes a kid that's really got the inner drive to be better.

We want our girls to be exposed to this level of competition. It's good for building interest, and we have had about a 10 percent increase in sign-ups this year.

We're notorious this year for waiting until the end of games. In the seventh inning, the girls were determined she (Falcone) wasn't going to get them again.

We were a little tentative. Typically, right off the bat, having so many girls look at called third strikes is something that we don't normally do. After we talked to them about that, we didn't have any more. We have to be more aggressive. We have been hitting the ball, so we were disappointed that we didn't come out hitting.

Girls talk to each other like men talk to each other. But girls have an eye for detail.
