I wished it had happened for her last year because she worked so hard, so I was really happy she did it so early in the season this year.

It's been great to get Velez this year to come in as a freshman. She's got an incredible arm, she has an understanding of the game, she's an incredibly fast runner and she can put the bat on the ball. She's been a great addition. She just walked on and started playing and she hasn't skipped a beat.
