These are the grassroots and the foundation of our party. These aren't party bosses. These are people, individuals, who really care about their community and they've been extremely considerate and sincere in this process.

They want people who are going to serve by lifting others up, not tearing them down.

The Democratic Party bosses dumped a candidate with mainstream vote-getting potential for one of their most liberal members.

I very much felt comfortable with the level of support I've gotten, the message that I hope to bring and I'm going to campaign for this vigorously. I'm excited and very enthusiastic about getting around the district and earning the support of the party and ultimately want to send a message and talk a lot about reform and responsibility in state government.
