These comments by Democrats today are again part of their concerted effort to demonize Newt Gingrich, trying to do through the ethics process what they couldn't do at the ballot box. We won the election. They ought to just get on with it and grow up.

If we're just to continue with trying to see how much blood we can let out of Democrats and how much we can wound Democrats and not make it bipartisan, I'm for ending it as quick as we can end this thing, ... I think we had the opportunity to make this bipartisan.

I think Schumer and other Democrats were trying to walk a tightrope. They were trying to make sure they didn't alienate the liberal interest groups and their (political) bases.

I was really pleased with our effort today, especially on the last four holes. Everyone stepped up at different times for us, but our work has just begun. We will work tonight on getting as fresh as we can for tomorrow and see what happens from there.
