These EEOC cases are very compelling and extremely disturbing to those of us in the community.

If it's taxpayers' money, it's coming out of your pocket. You want to know where it's going to go. It used to be extremely frustrating, to place something simple, a simple FOIL, and wait two to three months. I had one out for a whole year.

I am pleased it's over, pleased they reached an amicable agreement and the district can move forward. If this had played out in the courts, it would have been a very long time, nothing would have been accomplished and it would have been far more costly.

The No. 1 thing circulating in my head regarding Katrina's impact on the community, is how they will impact our city and how their culture will affect ours, ... We gave them a lot, but they came with a lot, not in possessions, but in their hearts, and their souls and their culture. I want people to see our new neighbors as new assets to our community. This will be great for our city.

The community has a responsibility for our children. We do not want our children to grow up without these adult connections.

We're looking at diversity within our own community. I feel it exposes students from both schools to a variety of cultures.
